Commercial License

Introduction

Commercial Licenses are required by Independent Software Vendors or other companies or individual wanting to distribute a product linking to compile-time components of PostSharp, but do not want to release their product under any OSI-approved license.

A commercial license is actually an exemption, granted to a specific company for a specific product, to distribute the product without having to release it under an OSI-approved license.

Answers to Concrete Questions

If I buy a commercial license, do my end-users also need a commercial license of PostSharp?

No, unless you allow your users to distribute modules that use compile-time components of PostSharp.

Does the commercial license provide additional warranty protection or support?

No, the commercial license is a pure exemption, and confers no other right. Commercial support may be acquired separately, however.

How can I acquire a commercial license for my project?

Send a license request, where you specify the public name of the project and a brief scope description. After discussion, you will receive a notification of license request acceptation, as well as a call for payment. The exemption will be issued after payment reception.

I have acquired a commercial license. Can my plug-in use another GPL-licensed plug-in that is not a part of the PostSharp distribution?

No. PostSharp's copyright owners do not have the right to exempt you from obligations imposed by third persons.
